Here are updates for Midway City for October 2011:

  • The storm drain installation has been completed (90%)on the following streets:

    • Adams Street from Bolsa Avenue to Washington Avenue
    • Jackson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Washington Avenue
    • Van Buren Street from Bolsa Avenue to Madison Avenue
    • Monroe Street from Washington Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Jefferson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Washington Avenue
    • Wilson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Madison Avenue
    • Harper Street from Washington Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Washington Avenue from Van Buren Street to Wilson Street
    • Madison Avenue from Adams Street to Van Buren Street
    • Roosevelt Avenue from Van Buren Street to Wilson Street

  • The street improvements concrete work (curb & gutter, sidewalk, and drive approaches) have been installed (65%) on the following streets:

    • Adams Street from Bolsa Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Jackson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Van Buren Street from Bolsa Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Monroe Street from Bolsa Avenue to Hazard Avenue
    • Jefferson Street from Washington Avenue to Hazard Avenue
    • Wilson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Madison Avenue
    • Harper Street from Bolsa Avenue to Hazard Avenue

  • The asphalt concrete paving has begun (50%)on the following streets:

    • Adams Street from Bolsa Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Jackson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Van Buren Street from Bolsa Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue
    • Monroe Street from Bolsa Avenue to Madison Avenue
    • Jefferson Street from Washington Avenue to Madison Avenue
    • Jefferson Street from Roosevelt Avenue to Hazard Avenue
    • Harper Street from Bolsa Avenue to Hazard Avenue
    • Hazard Avenue from Monroe Street to Wilson Street

  • The asphalt concrete paving has been completed (10%) on the following streets:

    • Adams Street from Bolsa Avenue to Washington Avenue
    • Jackson Street from Bolsa Avenue to Washington Avenue
    • Alleys East and West (Alley No.1 to No.10) from Adams to Newland

  • The parkway grass and tree installation (50%) is ongoing on various streets.

Residents are reminded to observe “no parking signs” and to drive slowly while traveling in construction zones to protect the contractor’s workers. It is the Department’s sincere desire to accomplish this much-needed construction with minimum inconvenience to the area’s residents. Your cooperation is appreciated. Please remember that construction sites present many challenges. Please instruct children to stay away from construction activity at all times.
